Noise protection made of glass:
timeless and elegant

It’s not just concrete or wood that keeps noise and sound away from residents. A glass noise barrier is also an effective noise protection measure. The production process uses break-resistant and stable laminated safety glass, which makes class B3 airborne sound insulation possible. They therefore meet the requirements of the highest noise protection class.

The noise barrier with glass is considered timeless, elegant and stylish and is therefore popular in residential areas. It blends in perfectly with the surroundings. It is also possible to opt for a green solution. Find out here about the positive properties and possibilities of a glass noise barrier!

Structure & properties

The basis

The RAU® glass sound insulation system is based on a deep foundation with foundation piles. Bored piles or driven pipes are used at this point. The stable base is cast from concrete. Depending on your requirements, you have the option of having sight lines integrated.

The components

The use of large-format noise barrier components significantly reduces the proportion of elements based on steel construction. The use of large panes increases the transparency of our glass noise barriers, which has a positive effect on the visual appearance and minimizes shadows.

The optics

At the same time, RAU® offers a selection of different transparent colors. Integrating the right color into the surroundings has a positive effect on the perception of the noise barriers. In addition to the volume, which can be reduced by a noise barrier, the appearance of the walls also plays a role for the people who live next to them or have their garden.

In-house production, certification

At RAU®, the superstructure elements are manufactured in-house. The glass elements can be perfectly combined with wood and aluminum in the space between the panes. Regardless of the combination, you receive certified and tested systems from RAU®. This ensures that each system meets the high requirements for absorption and sound insulation values.
