2.5 kilometers of noise barrier are being built along the border between the 6-Lakes-Wedau development area and Duisburg-Bissingheim. The RAU® Climatewall runs up to 15 meters high along the tracks. The steel framework is clearly visible in many places, but is no longer visible in others, where the underlying skeleton has already been covered with geotextile. Plants, such as ivy, are to grow here later. The noise barrier will also provide a shelter for insects. Almost 100 new allotment gardens have been created on the 6-Lakes-Wedau site to replace the old allotment garden site.
