What is Canwool?
Canwool is a sound absorber made from hemp fibers. The raw material is pressed into panels and is therefore suitable as an insulating material for all standard sound insulation cassettes. The fibers of the hemp plant are an ideal material as they are particularly sustainable. Hemp not only grows extremely quickly, but can also be grown anywhere. This is due to the fact that hemp is neither sensitive to temperature nor does it make any special demands on soil quality. Thanks to the plant’s natural resistance, neither intensive irrigation nor the use of pesticides is necessary for its cultivation. At the same time, hemp fibers can be endlessly recycled, similar to waste paper.
Sustainable alternative to other materials
Canwool, or hemp insulation, can be a sustainable alternative to other insulation materials. In addition to the hemp fiber properties already mentioned, production and processing also play an important role here. Canwool conserves resources as it is a renewable building material.
The sound absorber made of hemp fibers offers equally high-quality noise protection. Both absorption and insulation are in the first-class range.
