Aluminum noise barrier Battery storage site

Noise barrier for large battery storage facility in Bollingstedt

The “Bollingstedt noise barrier” project shows how efficient noise protection can be achieved in sensitive technology zones. In just three weeks, RAU® built an aluminum wall up to 6.5 meters high for a 100-megawatt battery storage facility – precisely planned, with a low-vibration foundation and visually integrated.

Noise protection wall for battery storage site in Bollingstedt

Project overview:

In spring 2025, RAU® implemented a state-of-the-art aluminum noise barrier for a battery storage site in Germany. The aim was to develop a highly absorbent, durable and visually appealing noise protection solution that meets the specific requirements of an energy-intensive operation. The project was implemented in just three weeks and included complete planning, structural analysis, execution and acceptance by RAU®. Individual project factors such as wall height, foundation type, site conditions and design requirements play a key role in the cost calculation. We will be happy to advise you personally.

Key technical data at a glance

The following technical key figures provide a quick overview of the project implementation:

  • Total length of the noise barrier: 230 m
  • Height: 4 to 6.5 m
  • Wall area: approx. 1,200 m²
  • Building site size: 3,300 m²
  • Construction time: 3 weeks
  • Storage capacity of the battery system: 100 megawatts

Product solution:

Weather-resistant aluminum noise protection cassettes were used, optionally in all RAL colors, combined with coated steel girders. The construction is designed for a service life of at least 25 years. RAU® took on the planning, structural analysis, execution and acceptance from a single source.

Results

Conclusion:

The project in Bollingstedt impressively demonstrates how RAU® implements complex sound insulation solutions efficiently, precisely and sustainably - even under demanding technical conditions.
