Job details & challenges:
The “Waterfront City” urban development project covers 5 hectares in the heart of Óbuda (District 3) near the Danube, in the border area between Folyamőr utca, Miklós tér and Bogdáni út.
The promenade will cover an area of 50,000 square meters and will offer convenience for everyday life thanks to its excellent infrastructure. On the one hand, the promenade is connected to the city center of the Óbuda district, which is only 600 meters away. In addition, a cycle path leads from the housing estate to the nearby town of Szentendre, which is characterized by its charming baroque townscape.
With its ambience and architectural style, the 10,000 m² residential development is intended to create a unique atmosphere in which to live. Innovative solutions are used to achieve this: Residential buildings with green roofs and large parks with various functions provide a friendly and endearing environment for future homeowners.
Project objective:
The aim is to combine the ambience of the past with the most innovative solutions of today. The building and chimney of the former Óbuda liquor factory will be refreshed with new elements, emphasizing its characteristic appearance. After the reconstruction, the former factory building will offer commercial, catering and office services.
Product solution:
Green roofs, green parks, green noise protection.
The RAU® Climatewall complements the idea of a natural feel-good atmosphere for the residents of the new housing estate. With its properties such as filtering fine dust, providing humidity and natural cooling, the green noise barrier offers a better microclimate for the city by the water. The climatewall also impresses with its sustainable CO₂ balance. In addition to binding 100% of its own production emissions, the wall actively binds CO₂ over its entire service life.
Green noise barrier elements and glass noise barrier elements separate the housing estate from the noise of the adjacent road. Thanks to the visually compatible noise barrier duo, residents can enjoy peace and comfort.
Results
- The noise barrier system extends over a total length of approx. 500 meters.
- A construction height of up to 4 meters was achieved.
- The mixture of different materials (glass + plants) creates a light-filled and relaxed atmosphere.
- The climatewall has an airborne sound insulation value of DLR = 68 dB.
- The climatewall has an absorption value of DL𝛼 = 20 dB.
- The noise protection implementation therefore also ensures pleasant peace and quiet in the future housing estate.
