Job details & challenges:
The client was a municipal urban development company with the aim of significantly reducing the noise level in a densely built-up residential area. The biggest challenge was integrating the noise barrier into a cramped urban environment with complex ground conditions, high traffic frequency and design requirements for transparency and aesthetics.
Project objective:
Development and implementation of a multifunctional noise protection solution that offers maximum sound absorption with minimum space requirements, blends in visually with the urban structure and uses sustainable materials. In addition, the wall was to contribute to improving the urban microclimate through greenery.
Results
- Sound reduction index Rw = 27 dB
- Sound absorption DLα = 12 dB
- Only 13 cm wall thickness despite high protective effect
- Extensive greening with the RAU® VineFrame
