RAU® Climatewall S in Emmendingen - noise protection redefined with glass and stone

Construction of a 300 meter long and 6 meter high noise barrier along a busy traffic axis. The construction is based on an innovative system of RAU® Climatewall S elements and translucent glass panels. The aim was to create an effective, aesthetically pleasing and sustainable noise protection solution in an urban space.

Job details & challenges:

The client was a municipal urban development company with the aim of significantly reducing the noise level in a densely built-up residential area. The biggest challenge was integrating the noise barrier into a cramped urban environment with complex ground conditions, high traffic frequency and design requirements for transparency and aesthetics.

Project objective:

Development and implementation of a multifunctional noise protection solution that offers maximum sound absorption with minimum space requirements, blends in visually with the urban structure and uses sustainable materials. In addition, the wall was to contribute to improving the urban microclimate through greenery.
