Noise barrier Ladenburg - Sustainable noise protection for residential and commercial areas

As part of the expansion of noise-reducing infrastructure, RAU® implemented a green noise barrier along a railroad line in Ladenburg. The installation is directly adjacent to a residential and commercial area and meets high requirements in terms of noise protection, sustainability and aesthetic integration into the landscape.

Job details & challenges:

The contract included the planning, construction and greening of a noise barrier approximately 600 meters long and up to 6 meters high. Special challenges were posed by the narrow available corridor, different subsoil conditions and the direct proximity to the railroad line. The requirements for harmonious integration into the landscape also played a central role.

Project objective:

The primary aim was to significantly reduce rail traffic noise for the adjacent residential and commercial area and to enhance the ecological value of the area by creating a planted wall structure that also provides a habitat for flora and fauna.

Conclusion:

The noise barrier in Ladenburg is a pioneering project that combines technology, ecology and design. The combination of a high level of protection and natural design contributes to the quality of life of the population and sets new standards in modern infrastructure construction.
